Its still snowing here and everywhere is white. It should be a really good base as its been cold for a few weeks now. The plough is out every morning before the school run to clear the snow which is great.

Anneha goes off to school in her ski suit as they all play out at break time. Ffi is very impressed with it and wants to be out at every opportunity.

The chalet is fine and ready for the first guests. The hot tub will be heated this week just to make sure everything is working properly. Jonny has done a walkway to it now and has ordered his LED lights to show the way.

We have been testing out a few more wines for the chalet, its hard work!!!We will probably stick with the same red as last year I think as everyone seemed to really like it. We have another white we might add.

The menu is planned, just have to make final details for xmas day.

Looking forward to our first week and the new season. Hope to see you all sometime during it!!!!

We have just returned from a break in the UK as Anneha has been on her school holidays. We have come back to lovely sunny weather the trees look amazing colours and the temperature is dropping at night.
We have been collecting our wood for the winter and Jonny has bought a new chainsaw to cut it all to length. Its been a long job as we need about 15m square to last us.

My garden is just about finished have taken the leeks, pumpkins and beetroot out this week, infact I have just made some pumpkin soup and Jonny has found a new recipe for the beetroot.

We are off to a bonfire party at a friends although its not a done thing here the French celebrate Halloween more. We bought fireworks and the girls have made toffee.

We have got notice to apply for our lift passes for the season so we are getting excited. Our resort opens 17th Dec although Val d Isere opens end of November so we will be skiing then. I need to buy some new salopettes first as I ended up ripping mine last season. Snow is forecast this week down to 1950m so watch this space.

The hot tube is connected up and we are just waiting for a friend to finish the outside of it. Jonny has bought another vehicle so those of you that know Emily the blue Mazda van will not be seeing her this season.

The hot tub has arrived and is sitting on the decking ready to be installed. We are all very excited and the girls cannot wait to get in and try it out. It will be up and running in the next two weeks.

We had snow down to 2300m, All the peaks were covered a sure sign winter is on its way. Rest of the week looks to be dry and sunny.
My garden is fine good tomatoes, beetroot and a pumpkin that is not yet orange. My peppers are a little on the small side but will be ready shortly. I froze some haricot vert yesterday and am hoping the melons will be ready shortly. Its been good fun but I probably have not paid enough attention as I should to it.

Anneha is settled at her new school only 15 kids in the whole place and she is the only English one. Her French is really coming on now. Ffi who is 2 understands both English and French and can say words in both.

Its starting to get busier with bookings now so I spend a lot of time on the computer and getting the chalet ready for December. Jonny is busy plastering at the moment at a chalet across on the other side of the mountain. We are all looking forward to the start of the season.
